Testimonials

Don't just it from me; hear from some of those I've worked with.

Katherine Martinez

She is an inspiration when it comes to DEI efforts in the military-affiliated community. Regardless of your role in this community (active duty, veteran, reservist, spouse or military child) she ensures every person is not only represented but validated. A trait I admire most is her willingness to speak up on behalf of underrepresented minorities in spaces that traditionally haven't welcomed conversations in DEI. Her courage to tap into her own experiences and share them has moved others to also advocate for DEI in several sectors in military, government, and higher education. Deja is a subject matter expert in DEI and the military community. Her knowledge has been instrumental in the drive for change in welcoming for underrepresented minorities to the table that they have always deserved to be at.

Joi is a phenomenal Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) leader! Her unique personal experience, coupled with her educational and professional achievements has earned her the distinction of Ally in every conversation. Her passion for intersectionality has given the military community a thought partner that brings a unique perspective that explores, and addresses ALL of the unique challenges this community encounters. Joi also brings a refreshing approach when amplifying voices of marginalized groups. She is masterful at storytelling while raising awareness of voices that have been historically stifled. She is an excellent relationship manager that possesses the acumen and brilliance to engage with leaders at all levels of the organization. Her background in higher academia, government, non-profit, corporate, and entrepreneurship make her a multifaceted practitioner that understands all aspects of business and how to help solve their challenges. Lastly, Joi brings a spirit of empathy. She’s regarded as a lifelong learner that’s continuously trying to evolve in the pursuit of helping others. Her love for humanity resonates in all her efforts, and the execution of excellence in her work is to be admired.
